April 25th – Ohio Next Generation Tournament Trail – Clear Fork

What a difference a year makes. Last season’s Next Generation Central Ohio Division’s spring tournament at Clear Fork took 16 pounds to win with four fish. With a brutal cold front, temperatures dipping below freezing, and east winds constantly blowing at 20+ mph, the fishing was TOUGH for this season’s opener for the Next Generation schedule. Nine adult/youth teams dared the elements only scrapping out 7 total fish between everyone.

The first place team of Tom and Grant Hack won their first tournament fishing the series with a weight of 4.28 on two fish. Big Bass for the tournament was caught by the team of Robert and Nathan Sisson with a nice 3.70 pound largemouth.

This is the second year of the adult/youth circuit’s Central Ohio division and is part of the USA Bassin National Trail. This is a great opportunity for youth to get to fish in a shortened tournament tday eamed up with an adult. The next stop for the circuit is May 10 at Alum Creek Cheshire ramp. Details are available at www.usabassin.com or you can call tournament director, Tom Hack at 419-560-0432.

The Central Ohio Next Generation Circuit would also like to thank Knox Marine for providing plaques for the first place teams and for big bass. Ranger Boats has just been added as the national sponsor for USA Bassin and Knox Marine is one the top Ranger Dealers in the country. Knox Marine’s customer service is second to none! Message from Tournament Director Jami Norman:
I want to thank all that showed up for the event. We had 33 boats for our 1st year at Buckeye Lake, the new home for this event. We will have this next year around the same time. It was a beautiful day to have an event and it went very well. Ed was giving away door prizes for almost an hour. That was fine because BW3 had given us plenty of their awesome wings to eat. John Dawson Plumbing gave 4th and 5th place 70.00 in prize money and O’reily’s Auto Parts stepped up big time again. The Eagles of Buckeye lake gave a big donation once again and I know it was greatly appreciated. Perry Kincaid provided the refreshments and Laura Huber helped everyone with the food. We had some real nice yard art donated from Complete Stone solutions. Jimmy V’s donated gift cards again and Venom Lures and Warrior Baits were involved as well. I hope I have not forgotten anyone because they are so important in this quest to raise money for a great cause. If you would like to help by donating next year we would love your support. Over 2,500.00 was raised again this year for Faiths Wish List/Children’s Hospital.
